I recently embarked on an exciting journey to Bangkok and chose to stay at the Ritz-Carlton Bangkok, one of the newest additions to the Marriott family. Though my stay was only for one night, I opted for a club room to fully enjoy the luxurious services this hotel offers. True to my expectations, the Ritz-Carlton impressed me with its outstanding service, amenities, and especially the amazing lounge.

Booking at Ritz-Carlton Bangkok

For my stay, I spent around $650 for a night in club room 2304. Using my Amex credit card, I received a $300 discount, which brought my total down to about $350. By booking through the Amex FHR program, I also enjoyed complimentary breakfast, a room upgrade, and a $100 credit for hotel services. Location of Ritz-Carlton Bangkok

The hotel is situated in the One Bangkok complex on Wireless Road, close to Lumphini Park. While there are mixed opinions about this location, I found it quite convenient. Getting to major attractions was easy, thanks to affordable MRT and taxi options. However, when it comes to views, one side of the hotel offers a more stunning outlook, while the other side leaves a bit to be desired.

Experience at the Hotel

Upon arrival, I was thoroughly impressed by the check-in experience. The staff warmly welcomed me and led me directly to my room without any waiting time. The hotel has a reception area on the ground floor solely for arrivals and departures. Ascending to the lobby, I was greeted by a vast and luxurious space that made me feel comfortable right from the moment I walked in.

My Room

My room, 2304, was located on the 23rd floor and featured a small balcony. Even though I booked a club room, I was upgraded to one with a balcony. The room spanned 50 square meters, which is fairly spacious for a non-suite room. However, it did feel a bit cramped compared to what was advertised.

Room Amenities and Décor

The room boasted a plush king-size bed, comfortable seating, and a wall-mounted TV. Notably, the minibar was stocked with a variety of beverages and snacks, and I even enjoyed a complimentary Nespresso coffee machine. The bathroom was quite spacious, featuring a bathtub, shower, and Japanese-style toilet. However, I did feel that the overall construction quality left something to be desired, particularly in terms of soundproofing.

Other Hotel Services

As a club guest, I was treated to coffee or tea each morning. They didn’t require me to set an alarm, but they were more than happy to bring me a hot pot of coffee in the morning. Additionally, the hotel features a beautiful outdoor pool, which is an ideal spot to unwind under the sun.

Conclusion: Should You Stay at Ritz-Carlton Bangkok?

Overall, Ritz-Carlton Bangkok is an experience worth trying. The excellent service, luxurious lounge, and convenient location are significant advantages. However, with many other hotels offering equally appealing experiences, this may not be the only choice if you’re looking for a place to stay in Bangkok.

In summary, my experience at Ritz-Carlton Bangkok left me satisfied. While it wasn't perfect, many delightful and memorable moments occurred during my one night there.
