Did you know that the World of Hyatt Business Credit Card makes it easy to accumulate rewards points? Let's dive into the details!
Introduction to the World of Hyatt Business Credit Card
I’m a big fan of Hyatt, so I always encourage people to check out their loyalty program if they haven’t already. Within the World of Hyatt system, Chase currently offers two types of credit cards that help Hyatt enthusiasts easily earn rewards points and enhance their stay experiences. One of these is the World of Hyatt Business Credit Card, aimed at small businesses and independent owners.
This card has an annual fee of $199, which is relatively moderate. Personally, I really enjoy Hyatt's personal credit card, but this business card is also a great option for those who tend to spend a lot or appreciate the attractive cashback categories it offers.
Highlights of the Credit Card
One of the main attractions of the World of Hyatt Business Credit Card is its diverse point-earning categories. This card allows you to earn up to 9 points for every dollar spent at Hyatt and 2 points for every dollar spent in the top three categories each quarter (including shipping fees, airline tickets purchased directly from the airline, and advertising on social media and search engines).
However, I wouldn’t recommend using this card unless you're spending at Hyatt. If you have a transferable points card that earns equivalent or more in any of the categories of this card, you should opt for that instead. Points earned from transferable cards often hold more value than Hyatt points.
Card Benefits and Perks
This card also offers several other benefits, such as automatically receiving Discoverist status, up to $50 in statement credits for Hyatt transactions each year, and one qualifying night for every $10,000 spent on the card. You can even gift Discoverist status to up to five of your employees.

Moreover, if you spend $50,000 in a year, you will receive 10% of the points used for redemptions that year back (up to 200,000 points). While this might seem like a high threshold, it can be quite attractive for small businesses that have frequent travel.
Strengths and Weaknesses of the Card
For businesses that can easily spend tens of thousands of dollars each year, the World of Hyatt Business Credit Card offers many useful perks. The qualifying nights you can earn for every $10,000 spent will help boost your status. To achieve Explorist status—the next tier after Hyatt's Discoverist—you need 30 qualifying nights.
Although reaching 30 qualifying nights through spending alone would require $60,000 with this card, every night you stay at Hyatt within the year counts towards qualifying nights, reducing the amount you need to spend. But if you’re not a business owner who can easily spend big, you might find it challenging to recoup the annual fee value of this card.
How to Earn and Use Rewards Points
The World of Hyatt Business Credit Card helps you accumulate Hyatt points. The point-earning categories are as follows: up to 9 points for every dollar spent at Hyatt (including 4 points from this card and up to 5 points from the World of Hyatt program), 2 points for every dollar spent in the top three categories each quarter, and 1 point for every other dollar spent.
The best way to use Hyatt points is to redeem them for hotel stays. According to TPG’s assessment in April 2026, Hyatt points are valued at about 1.7 cents per point. A prime example is when TPG used 12,000 points to book a night at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay, saving nearly 4 cents per point.
World of Hyatt Business Credit Card vs. World of Hyatt Card
As I mentioned earlier, Chase currently offers two Hyatt cards, with the potential for more in the future. The World of Hyatt Credit Card has better perks with a lower annual fee of $95. You still receive automatic Discoverist status and the same earning rates as the business card without the higher fees.
In summary, if you’re a high spender at Hyatt, this card could bring you numerous benefits. However, if you don’t frequently spend large amounts, you might want to consider other options. I find this quite thought-provoking and will continue to monitor information to make the best choice.
