Orient Express: The Ultra-Luxury Cruise Set to Launch in 2026
In recent years, I've noticed many high-end hotel companies venturing into the cruise industry. For instance, the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection was among the pioneers, followed by Four Seasons Yachts, and by 2027, we will witness the debut of Aman at Sea. Recently, Orient Express—famous for its luxurious train journeys—has also announced its entry into the cruise market.
Charting the Course for Luxury Cruising
The first cruise ship from Orient Express, named the Orient Express Corinthian, is set to officially welcome travelers aboard in June 2026. This ship will be the largest sailing yacht in the world, measuring 220 meters in length, and will feature 54 suites, accommodating up to 110 guests.
Exceptional Amenities
The Orient Express Corinthian is described as a “striking haven of sophistication.” Each suite will have a minimum area of 47 square meters with panoramic sea views. The ticket price includes all amenities such as meals, premium beverages, butler service, room service, entertainment, and much more. It’s truly impressive considering the number of restaurants and entertainment options available on such a small vessel.
Culinary Delights on Board
The Orient Express Corinthian will offer a variety of dining options, ranging from Yannick Alléno's La Table de l’Orient-Express to La Terrasse, L’Ecrin, Marina Bay, and other exciting venues. The ship will also feature a swimming pool, a full-service spa, a gym, and numerous other recreational spaces.
Pricing for the Voyage
The Orient Express cruise will set sail in June 2026, operating in the Mediterranean during the summer and the Caribbean in the winter. You can check all the itineraries on their website—the trips will last from 2 to 14 nights, with some quite unique routes that go beyond just major ports.
However, the cost of these journeys is quite steep. For example, a seven-night cruise in Europe in September will cost €36,400 per suite, while a 14-night transatlantic voyage in October is priced at €60,200 per suite. A three-night Caribbean trip in November will be around €16,500.

Will the Luxury Cruise Concept Succeed?
While luxury cruising isn't a new concept, the market is undergoing significant changes. Nowadays, cruises are not only catering to wealthy retirees but are also attracting younger demographics, many of whom may have never considered a cruise vacation before.
I've had my first experience with the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection and was pleasantly surprised by the luxury and overall experience. Overall, Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection offers some of the most reasonable pricing among luxury cruise lines. Following them is Four Seasons Yachts, while Aman and Orient Express are positioned at the very top tier.
The Future of Orient Express in the Cruise Industry
Orient Express is expanding into the cruise sector with the launch of Orient Express Sailing Yachts, specifically the Corinthian, the largest sailing yacht in the world. Set to debut in the coming months, just after Four Seasons Yachts and ahead of Aman at Sea, this will be an exciting turning point in the luxury cruise industry. I am very curious about how this will develop in the future.
In conclusion, Orient Express is proving to be a noteworthy name in the cruise industry, and I believe the experience on this yacht will offer something truly exceptional for its guests.
