Discovering the World with Lindblad Expeditions

When I first considered exploring the world, I was immediately drawn to National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions. It's the perfect choice for those looking for intimate travel experiences that go beyond the usual tourist ports and venture into lesser-known territories.

With a fleet dedicated to exploration, Lindblad takes you to places that larger ships can't reach, focusing on more extraordinary destinations. Their collaboration with National Geographic ensures that every journey is centered around discovering nature and immersing yourself in local cultures.

A Memorable Journey in Melanesia

I had the incredible opportunity to embark on an expedition with Lindblad in Melanesia, where much of our time was spent building relationships with local communities. I visited places that many people can only dream of reaching. After my experience with Lindblad, I completely understand why so many travelers return again and again.

Recently, I also traveled to Svalbard with National Geographic, where I encountered walruses, polar bears, and massive icebergs! Currently, I'm on a journey from Cabo Verde to the Azores with Lindblad.

Lindblad's Unique Small Fleet

Lindblad boasts a compact and distinct fleet of exploration vessels. Their largest ship, the National Geographic Explorer, accommodates just 148 passengers, while most cruise ships can hold over 2,000. Most Lindblad ships typically carry fewer than 100 guests, allowing for a more intimate and engaging experience.

The Delfin II is the smallest ship in Lindblad’s fleet, ready to welcome you in the lush tropical rainforests. With only 28 guests onboard, you'll have the chance to explore the West Amazon in Peru. In addition to Amazon excursions, you can also take small tours to Machu Picchu.

Accommodations and Amenities

Each Lindblad ship is uniquely designed to suit its destination. The Sea Cloud, operating in the Caribbean and Mediterranean, invites 58 guests to experience its historic sailing vessel. This multi-sensory experience offers just 30 outside cabins, making it truly special.

On the other hand, ships like the National Geographic Endurance and Resolution, which operate in Antarctica, have a capacity of 128 guests and feature the unique X-Bow® design, ensuring a smooth and comfortable journey, even in the toughest conditions.

Exploration Opportunities in Antarctica

National Geographic offers both short and long trip options in Antarctica. You can explore the Antarctic region or visit the Falkland Islands and South Georgia. Lindblad even goes beyond the Antarctic Peninsula with unique itineraries from New Zealand.

With their small fleet, Lindblad can access places that no one else can. On my recent trip aboard the National Geographic Orion, our ship docked at small islands and bays in the Solomon Islands. These locations aren't on the map and don't appear in official guides, so Lindblad used a zodiac to survey and chart the bay.

Exceptional Experiences at Every Destination

Lindblad not only provides remarkable expeditions but also brings along experts from National Geographic. These photographers not only teach you how to capture better images but also share the experience of each destination with you. Additionally, cultural experts are on hand to deepen your understanding of the unique characteristics and history of the places you visit.

Each evening, you can participate in recap sessions where everyone shares their experiences and emotions from the day’s adventures.

Unforgettable Destinations Around the Globe

Lindblad Expeditions, along with National Geographic, takes you to all seven continents. They have several ships operating year-round at unique destinations like the Galapagos, Nile, Mekong, and Amazon. Thanks to their small fleet, you can enjoy thrilling journeys to places that few have set foot on.

I chose Lindblad for my exploratory journey because I was eager to discover Melanesia, with stops in the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, and New Caledonia. These stunning islands have never disappointed me, with friendly locals, fantastic hikes, and unforgettable experiences.

All-Inclusive Travel

When you join an expedition with Lindblad, most everything is included. From meals to tea times, everything is taken care of. There are no additional fees for food, and starting in 2024, all ships will offer an open bar. While some ships already include complimentary beverages, Lindblad will expand this service across the entire fleet, allowing guests to relax and enjoy drinks throughout their journey.

I truly can't wait for my next expedition. I'm ready to explore, learn, and grow while savoring new and exciting destinations!
