Discover Le Taste, a restaurant that beautifully blends Asian and Western cuisine with generous portions in Singapore. Don’t miss out on their unique dishes!
Introducing Le Taste
Located in the Clementi area of Singapore, Le Taste is a café-style eatery renowned for its large serving sizes and diverse menu that harmoniously fuses Asian and Western flavors. If you find yourself torn between Asian and Western dishes, Le Taste might just be the perfect destination for you.
Special Menu Highlights
The menu at Le Taste is divided into five distinct sections. The "Let It Burn" section features grilled meats, while "Play Cheat Day" focuses on fried chicken and fish. You’ll also find the "Noodles Party" offering four different noodle varieties and "Rice Bowl Lovers" featuring five types of Japanese-style rice bowls.
What sets Le Taste apart is its unique flavor combinations, such as salted egg chicken and fish, cereal mayonnaise chicken, and pork rice with curry cheese sauce. The dishes are elegantly presented on gray stone plates, adding a touch of sophistication compared to typical casual eateries.
Exploring the Dishes
I tried the 'Goldie Salted Egg Chicken Cutlet' (S$8) and was immediately drawn to the crispy fried chicken topped with salted egg sauce. The dish came with fries, ketchup, and lettuce. The chicken was perfectly fried, crispy on the outside while remaining juicy inside. However, the salted egg sauce had a mild sweetness that might not appeal to those who prefer a stronger salted egg flavor.
The 'Grilled Chicken Chop' (S$7) was equally enticing, served with a generous black pepper sauce that enhanced the dish's flavor. While it wasn’t particularly exotic, this grilled chicken offered a familiar and comforting taste.

Signature Pasta Dish
I also sampled the 'Smokey Ducky Olio' (S$7), an aglio olio pasta featuring smoked duck and mushrooms. The dish was moderately flavored and easy to eat, although the duck was a bit dry. Compared to other eateries, this dish didn’t stand out much but was still a simple and tasty meal option.
Special Rice Dish
Finally, I ordered the 'Curry Cheesy Grilled Pork Don' (S$7.50). Although labeled as "don," this rice dish was served on a plate rather than in a bowl. The white rice was topped with pork and curry cheese sauce, accompanied by lettuce. The pork was somewhat tough, with some pieces containing bones, making for a less comfortable dining experience. However, the curry cheese sauce was delightful, creating a harmonious blend with the meat.
Conclusion
Overall, the food at Le Taste evokes memories of dishes from various Western restaurants in Singapore. The portions are sizable, but the prices are on the higher side. If you’re a fan of sweet salted egg chicken, you definitely need to try this dish when you visit. While I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat at Le Taste, I would certainly stop by if I found myself in the area, looking for a warm and comforting meal.
Helpful Information for Vietnamese Travelers
If you’re planning a trip to Singapore, keep in mind that you will need a travel visa to enter the country.
