La Gi, a quaint town nestled along the coast of South Central Vietnam, is quickly emerging as an enticing destination for travelers seeking a unique getaway. Here, you’ll encounter more locals than international tourists, creating a relaxed atmosphere filled with warmth and friendliness. The town's delicious and affordable seafood is another reason why visitors are flocking to La Gi.

La Gi - The Untouched Jewel of Binh Thuan

Bordering two districts and the East Sea, La Gi is part of the coastal region of South Central Vietnam. This district town in Binh Thuan Province comprises 5 wards and 4 communes. La Gi connects with neighboring communities via a coastal road stretching from Binh Chau to Phuoc Hai and Dat Do. From Ho Chi Minh City, it takes just over three hours by car to reach this charming spot, covering a distance of approximately 153 kilometers.

History and Development

For many years, La Gi has been a vital coastal town with an economy based on fishing, trade, and tourism. Once the administrative center of Binh Tuy Province before it merged with Binh Thuan, La Gi carries stories from the Vietnam War era, though official records are scarce. The lack of attention from French and American colonizers spared La Gi from the heavy influences of colonial movements, helping to preserve its pristine charm.

Attractions and Activities

La Gi boasts a stunning 28 kilometers of coastline adorned with unspoiled white sandy beaches. Cam Binh and Coco Beachcamp are two popular spots, luring visitors with their natural beauty and tranquility. Cam Binh is known for its vibrant coral reefs, making it an ideal location for snorkeling. Meanwhile, Coco Beachcamp is a favorite among the youth, famous for its lively beach parties.

If you're feeling adventurous, consider hiring a local guide for activities like diving, surfing, or even joining a fishing tour. For those who prefer exploration, a trip to Mount Ta Cu, located about 21 kilometers from La Gi, reveals a giant reclining Buddha statue that is not to be missed.

Stargazing and Accommodation

With minimal urban light pollution, La Gi offers an incredible opportunity for stargazing. From the beach, you can marvel at a sky full of stars, especially during the dry season when the weather is clear. When it comes to accommodation, La Gi has a range of options from resorts to homestays at very reasonable prices.

For nature lovers, Coco Beachcamp features a camping setup right on the beach. If you prefer more amenities, Hòn Ba Lagi Beach Resort is a great choice with its private beach and excellent services. Located in the heart of town, Aurora Garden Homestay is a beloved spot for its tranquility and convenient location near attractions and dining options.
