Introduction to Momma’s Pizza & Rice Meal
Momma’s Pizza & Rice Meal is more than just a food stall; it’s the dream of a Filipino couple, Angela and Aaron. After overcoming challenges like a volcanic eruption and the COVID-19 pandemic, they opened their stall at 121 Geylang East Central in late 2023. Angela’s passion for cooking inspired them to return to the culinary world, bringing a taste of home to Singapore.
Aaron works full-time but often returns to help Angela at the stall. "She often calls me back for support!" he shares with a laugh, creating a warm atmosphere for diners.
Menu Highlights
At Momma’s Pizza & Rice Meal, the menu is rich with enticing Filipino dishes. One of the first dishes I tried was Bicol Express (S$7.50), named after the old train route between Manila and Naga. This rice dish features a layer of rice topped with furikake and crispy pork belly in a rich coconut sauce. Fresh corn and tomatoes add visual appeal and excitement to the dish.
The sauce has a bold flavor, reminiscent of Thailand’s Tom Kha Gai but richer. "This sauce typically has a spiciness similar to our sambal but has been adjusted for easier eating," Aaron explains.
Additionally, I sampled the Bacon & Potato Pizza (S$7.50 for a single size) — a delightful combination of bacon and potatoes. The creamy flavors of the toppings, combined with the sweetness of onions and potatoes, made for a fantastic culinary experience.
Other Pizza Options
Among the 15 types of pizza available, the Overload (S$9 for a single size) impressed me with its generous toppings including pepperoni, bacon, sausage, and mushrooms. This is the perfect choice for pizza lovers who enjoy a variety of flavors in each slice.

While enjoying the Overload, I experienced a burst of flavors, although both my companion and I preferred the Bacon & Potato pizza more.
Thoughts on Other Dishes
Finally, I tried the Tap – Silog (S$7.50), which includes beef, garlic rice, and a fried egg. The beef was flavorful, but it didn't reach the tenderness I had hoped for. I feel this dish could be improved further.
