To reach Ji Tuo Hong Kong Style Dim Sum, I embarked on a long journey to Bukit Batok MRT station. From there, it was just a bus ride on number 189 for five stops until we arrived at the SkyTech industrial zone on Bukit Batok Street.

As soon as I stepped inside, I was captivated by the airy space filled with natural sunlight. The ninth floor had rows of simple tables and red plastic chairs lining the hallway, creating a cozy atmosphere. The lush greenery around was a soothing sight, just as I had hoped for.

The Passionate Owners

I approached the stall in the center, where an elderly couple was serving. They were previously chefs at a Hong Kong cuisine restaurant before relocating here about three years ago due to rising rental costs. The cheerful lady said, "My husband has 40 years of experience, and I have 30 years," which only heightened my excitement.

A Simple Yet Tempting Menu

The menu here is quite straightforward, featuring only 14 items, so there's no need to deliberate for too long. I ordered the custard buns (S$3.50 for three). Although I was ready for a battle with the lightly flowing custard filling, to my surprise, the buns didn't have that texture at all. The custard filling was a bit sweet, leaving me wanting more.

However, the Siew Mai (S$3 for three) was much more satisfying. They were plump with minced meat, free of any unpleasant odor, and incredibly tasty, which I found quite delightful. The Crispy Tofu Rolls (S$3 for three) featured a crunchy exterior and flavorful pork filling, offering a fantastic experience.
