Embark on an unforgettable journey through Alaska on the Celebrity Solstice, where unique activities and breathtaking natural beauty await.

Celebrity Solstice Cruise Program

In recent years, cruising has become an unmissable experience for those who love to explore the world by sea. This year, Celebrity Cruises has launched the Celebrity Solstice as part of a $250 million upgrade program, just in time for the Alaska cruise season. The ship has undergone significant enhancements, promising an exceptional experience for travelers.

Time on Board: Soaking Up the Sunshine

The first day aboard in Vancouver was perfect, with clear blue skies and fresh air. As soon as we dropped off our bags, we headed straight to Sunset Park, a gorgeous outdoor space on the ship’s 15th deck. It’s the ideal spot to relax, play games, and enjoy live music.

Even better, the Sunset Café serves delightful breakfast and lunch snacks, particularly the must-try baked eggs. Each afternoon, they host a "warm cookie hour" for those with a sweet tooth. Sipping drinks at the Sunset Bar while enjoying cookies was truly a relaxing experience.

Exploring Icy Strait Point

When the ship docked at Icy Strait Point, we were introduced to one of Alaska's unique destinations, owned and operated by the local indigenous community. Surrounded by rainforests and near the largest Tlingit community in the state, Icy Strait Point offers a wide range of exciting activities.

Whale watching here has become an essential part of the experience. We had the chance to see orca pods up close, guided by the ship's crew. The joy was palpable as we watched the whales breach the surface, creating massive splashes.

Other Activities at Icy Strait Point

Although the weather prevented us from ziplining, our gondola ride up to SkyPeak did not disappoint. From 1,500 feet high, we were treated to breathtaking views of the landscape. Walking through a field and spotting a bald eagle were unforgettable moments.

Shopping enthusiasts can find local products like Devil’s Club ointment at a salmon cannery restored from 1912. Alongside savoring halibut pizza at Duck Point Smokehouse, we had a truly memorable day of exploration.

Helpful Information for Vietnamese Travelers

For Vietnamese travelers eager to experience Alaska, obtaining a visa is essential. U.S. visas typically take 7-10 days to process. The cost of flights from Vietnam to Vancouver ranges from 15-30 million VND each way, depending on when you book.

It's also worth noting that summer, from May to September, is the best time to visit Alaska when the weather is pleasant and the natural scenery is vibrant. Additionally, booking tours at least 2-3 months in advance will help you secure the best deals.

In summary, the journey on the Celebrity Solstice not only offers exciting experiences but also opens the door to discovering the wonders of Alaska through outdoor activities and stunning natural beauty.
