Introducing Hikiniku To Come at VivoCity
Hikiniku To Come, a new culinary destination at VivoCity, Singapore, specializes in serving fresh and delicious hamburger steak. The name translates to 'ground meat with rice', and with dining tables surrounding a central grill, diners can watch the chefs at work and enjoy their meals fresh off the grill.
This restaurant first launched in Japan in 2020 and quickly expanded across various Asian countries, including China, South Korea, and Taiwan. The opening at VivoCity marks the 16th Hikiniku To Come location worldwide and the very first in Singapore.
Menu Highlights and Must-Try Dishes
At Hikiniku To Come, the main dish is the Hikiniku To Come Set (S$27.90++). This set includes up to three pieces of sizzling hamburger steak, a bowl of miso soup, a raw egg, and rice, with free rice refills. The chefs encourage diners to try the steak in three different ways, and I decided to experience each method!
The first piece of meat I tried was served plain, allowing me to fully savor the beef's natural flavor. Grilled to a beautiful brown with a light sheen, it looked incredibly appetizing. As I cut into the steak, juices flowed out, creating a warm and pleasant sensation. While the meat was incredibly delicious and juicy, it wasn't overly greasy. Its delightful flavor surpassed that of ordinary burgers.
How to Enjoy the Burger and Accompaniments
The second piece of meat came with a plate of grated radish and a bottle of ponzu sauce. I was curious if this combination would create a unique flavor. Drizzling a little ponzu sauce over the steak, the rich flavor of the meat blended perfectly with the tangy, fermented notes of the ponzu. For me, this combination was exceptional, and I took my time savoring each bite.

When I reached the third piece of meat, we were invited to add a raw egg and challenge ourselves to keep it on top of the steak. Although this challenge was a bit tricky, the egg created a smooth layer over the meat, adding a silky texture to each bite.
Tasty Side Dishes
In addition to the main dish, I also tried two side dishes. The first was Fresh Kimchi (S$7.90++). Unlike traditional Korean kimchi, this version is made from fresh vegetables without fermentation, so it lacks the characteristic sourness. The second dish was Potato Salad with Minced Meat (S$7.90++), served with cucumbers and onions, providing a crunchy and refreshing bite in every mouthful.
Perfect Drink Pairing
If you're looking for a drink to accompany your meal, try the Hikiniku Craft Ginger Soda (S$4.90++). Although I'm not a fan of soda or ginger, if you enjoy fizzy drinks, the strong ginger flavor will offer a refreshing sensation from the very first sip. However, be careful not to drink too much at once to avoid a burning sensation in your throat.
How to Get to Hikiniku To Come
To reach Hikiniku To Come, you can take the MRT. The nearest station is HarbourFront (NE1/CC29). Simply exit via Exit C or E and walk about 4 minutes to location 01-102/103.
Would We Recommend Hikiniku To Come?
The answer is a resounding yes! Even if you're not a meat lover, the hamburger steaks here might just have you coming back for more. It's no wonder this brand is so beloved in Japan!
