District 2: The Expat Haven

Crossing the bridge into District 2, you’ll notice a slower pace of life, especially in Thao Dien. Welcome to Cho Lon! One of Saigon’s historic Chinatowns. District 5 is dense, bustling, and rich in cultural identity that you can feel the moment you arrive. You’ll see a strong influence from both Chinese and Vietnamese cultures, from incense-filled temples to traditional herbal medicine shops and eateries.

Don’t miss wandering through Cho Lon, exploring the fabric market, or getting lost in the festive decoration streets. This place is lively yet captivating.

District Binh Thanh: A Culinary Paradise Next Door

Just next to District 1 but with a more local flair. Binh Thanh is the perfect spot to enjoy everything without the crowds of District 1. This area is filled with hidden eateries, from street food to trendy dining spots.

Check out Pham Viet Chanh Street for boutique bars, Japanese restaurants, and a peaceful atmosphere: Fortune Ivy, Pickles Eatery, and Santorino. Notable bars include RetroSaigon with craft beer and Nong Trai Khoai. Landmark 81, the tallest building in Vietnam, is also located in this area.

District 7: The Breezy Area

Wide streets, modern buildings, and a distinctly different pace of life. Often referred to as Saigon’s “suburb,” this area is very popular with families and long-term expats. It also has a strong Korean community, so if you’re craving K-BBQ, this is your go-to spot.
