I find this to be an exciting program with reasonable pricing, especially for frequent travelers.

Current Promotions

From April 2 to May 2, 2026, Alaska Atmos Rewards is hosting a special promotion. Each member can take advantage of different offers, but the best deal right now is up to 100% bonus points, structured as follows:

Buy between 3,000 and 9,000 points, receive an 80% bonus

Buy between 10,000 and 19,000 points, receive a 90% bonus

Buy between 20,000 and 100,000 points, receive a 100% bonus

Cost of Buying Points

The standard price for purchasing Alaska Atmos Rewards points is 3.5 cents per point, before taxes and any discounts or bonuses are applied. If you qualify for the 100% bonus and purchase 100,000 points before any bonuses are considered, you'll end up with a total of 200,000 points for $3,762.50, which means just 1.88 cents per point.

How Many Points Can You Buy?

The number of points you can purchase depends on your membership status:

Elite Alaska Atmos Rewards members can buy an unlimited number of points

Non-elite members can purchase a maximum of 150,000 points per year, excluding bonus points

Keep in mind that you can only buy a maximum of 100,000 points per transaction (before bonuses), but you can make multiple transactions.

Which Credit Card is Best for Buying Points?

Since point purchases for Alaska Atmos Rewards are processed through points.com, these transactions won’t count as airfare purchases for credit card spending. Therefore, I recommend using a credit card that you’re trying to meet the minimum spending requirement with, or one that offers the most benefits for your everyday spending.

Is Buying Points Worth It?

I believe accumulating Alaska Atmos Rewards points is quite valuable. The program offers attractive redemption rates, especially for short-haul travel. If you're looking for business class award seats on airlines like Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines, or Qantas, you'll see a significant value in purchasing points.
