Discover the Lufthansa Lounge at London Heathrow Airport, featuring standout amenities and services. Learn more about the food, ambiance, and how to access the lounge.

Introduction to the Lufthansa Lounge

The Lufthansa Lounge at London Heathrow Airport is a perfect retreat for Star Alliance passengers, particularly located in Terminal 2A. This lounge not only offers convenience but also enhances your travel experience with its unique offerings.

How to Access the Lufthansa Lounge

After clearing security at Terminal 2, head upstairs, pass through the boarding pass check, and turn left (right if you're heading to the Plaza Premium Lounge). Continue straight and take a right to the third floor. The lounge is conveniently located next to the Aer Lingus Lounge.

The lounge operates daily from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM, catering to business and first-class passengers, Star Alliance Gold members, and select credit card holders. You can also purchase entry tickets on the Lufthansa website or at the reception desk.

Two Lounge Areas in One

This lounge is divided into two sections: the front area is the Lufthansa Business Lounge, designed for premium cabin passengers, while the back is the Senator Lounge. Access requires scanning your boarding pass. While there isn’t a significant difference in food and drink offerings, the Senator Lounge provides a quieter atmosphere.

Food and Beverages

One of the most exciting features here is the taco station—an unexpected treat at a Lufthansa Lounge in the UK! The taco bar includes chile con carne, tomato salsa, lettuce, and tortillas. While it may not be gourmet, the effort is commendable.

Other food options are quite diverse, including:

  • Mushroom and vegetable soup
  • Pulled pork sandwiches with pickles, whole grain mustard, and coleslaw
  • Free-range chicken egg and spinach sandwiches
  • Tomato and cucumber salad
  • Eastern slaw salad with sweet chili dressing
  • Stewed pilaf rice
  • Broccoli and cauliflower casserole
  • Penne pasta with vegetarian feta cheese
  • Peanuts, bread, sliced meats and cheeses, cookies, pastries, and gummy candies

A variety of beverages, including wine, coffee, tea, soft drinks, and juices, are available for self-service.

Amenities and Services

The lounge features restrooms and showers, with shower access available upon request at the reception. It also offers a selection of printed newspapers and magazines, particularly the UK Daily Mail, which some lounges no longer provide.

Conclusion

I really enjoyed this lounge, although if you're flying from Terminal 2B, I might suggest Singapore Airlines or United Clubs as better options. Nonetheless, the Lufthansa Lounge at Heathrow remains a solid choice with its ample amenities and spacious environment.

Compared to lounges in Paris or Milan, this one certainly stands out as one of the best Lufthansa lounges. If you're flying from Zone A at Terminal 2 of Heathrow, I highly recommend the Lufthansa Lounge for the best comfort and service.
