A review of the EasyJet A320 flight from Copenhagen to Basel: it's not cheap, but it gets you there on time. Let's dive into the journey and what travelers should keep in mind!
Departing from Copenhagen
During the recent Christmas holiday, my family and I decided to fly from Copenhagen to Basel-Mulhouse on an EasyJet flight. While the journey didn't feature any significant events, there was one thing I couldn't help but mention: this was not a quiet flight. Instead, the cabin was filled with the sounds of children laughing and crying, creating a cheerful symphony for the festive season.
Flight Information
Instead of our usual choice of SAS, we opted for EasyJet due to limited flights on Christmas Day. SAS only had one flight to Zurich, and naturally, we were out of luck with tickets. We ended up paying around 4,588 DKK (approximately 723 USD) for four people, which translates to about 181 USD each—a rather steep price for a basic flight that didn’t include luggage.
We departed from Kastrup Airport, which isn't my favorite, although I do appreciate the SAS lounge with its appealing LEGO shops for kids. The walk to the boarding gate was quite long and somewhat tedious. The EasyJet boarding area looked like an old warehouse, starkly contrasting with the luxury of SAS.
Boarding Process
At the boarding gate, an EasyJet staff member conducted a strict check of carry-on luggage. Fortunately, we traveled light and faced no issues. When it was time to board, we were invited to enter the plane, though this was done via two rather inconvenient staircases.
Onboard Experience with EasyJet
The EasyJet flight number 1264 took off at 5:10 PM and was scheduled to arrive in Basel at 7:00 PM. The total flight time was just about 1 hour and 50 minutes, covering a distance of 597 miles. I was seated in row 10, which had very cramped legroom. The air inside the plane was quite warm, accompanied by the sounds of crying children, but I managed not to let this bother me.

In-Flight Amenities
EasyJet does not offer wifi or power outlets at the seats, so it's wise to come prepared with reading material or fully charged electronic devices. There are three restrooms on board, two at the back and one at the front, serving 180 passengers. I had to use the restroom after downing more than three cups of water in the lounge.
Flight Conclusion
Ultimately, we arrived in Basel right on time, where we then had to choose whether to head into France or Switzerland. The uniqueness of Basel Airport lies in its ability to serve both countries. We opted to step into France, where my husband’s family was waiting to take us home for Christmas dinner.
Final Thoughts
In conclusion, there was nothing particularly special about EasyJet, but they did deliver a direct flight that was on time, which was truly a Christmas gift for us. Among budget airlines, I still prefer EasyJet over Ryanair and Wizzair. If you're looking to travel from Vietnam to Europe affordably and conveniently, EasyJet is a solid choice.
Useful Information for Vietnamese Travelers
When planning your flight to Basel, keep in mind that Vietnamese citizens need to apply for a Schengen visa to enter Switzerland. Currently, you can fly to Basel from Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City with various airlines, but be sure to check the flight schedules as there may not be many direct options.
The cost of a meal in Basel typically ranges from 300,000 to 800,000 VND, depending on the restaurant choice. The currency used here is the Swiss Franc (CHF), with the current exchange rate being approximately 1 CHF = 24,000 VND.
