As a die-hard college sports fan, especially during basketball season, I had the incredible opportunity to attend an amazing basketball event in Chicago last year, all thanks to my Hilton Honors points. It's hard to believe that these points not only secured me free accommodations but also provided an unforgettable experience.

That year, I was lucky enough to attend the Big Ten Basketball Championship at the United Center in Chicago, something I had dreamed of for a long time.

We spent two nights at the trendy theWit hotel located in Chicago's Theater District. This stylish hotel offered a beautiful design, and that morning, I watched as boats sprayed green dye into the Chicago River to celebrate St. Patrick's Day—a memory I will never forget.

The hotel features rooftop bars and restaurants with stunning views of the city. I particularly enjoyed the atmosphere at State and Lake, which felt like a cozy neighborhood pub.

Brunch with Basketball Legends

Sunday’s main event kicked off with a special brunch at theWit, where we had the chance to meet two basketball legends, Jalen Rose and Jimmy King. Not only did we indulge in delicious food, but I also got to chat with them about life after basketball and hear some fascinating stories. I was genuinely thrilled to listen to their anecdotes about their time at Michigan and their humorous tales about the current players in the league.

Watching Basketball in the Arena

On Saturday afternoon, my mom and I were at the semifinal game, seated right at the center of the arena, feeling as if we were in the heart of the action. Everything was fantastic—the vibrant atmosphere filled with snacks and beers from the concession stands added to the excitement.

On Sunday, we watched the final match between Michigan and Purdue from a luxurious suite that was fully stocked with food and drinks. The best part was watching Michigan play alongside two basketball legends. Everyone around us was buzzing with excitement at the sight of Jalen and Jimmy in our suite.
