While Dhon Burger in Petaling Jaya doesn’t serve the famous Ramly patties, it certainly checks all the other boxes.

Located along the road leading to S.K. Taman Medan, Dhon Burger is nestled among other stalls, reminiscent of a mini pasar malam. To the right, you'll find a variety of bottled drinks, and takoyaki and keropok lekor are just a stone's throw away. Unlike many roadside burger joints, this place features a small covered area for dining, though there are no tables. Most patrons opt to take their food away or eat in their cars, but there are a few seats for those who wish to linger.

Must-Try Delights at Dhon Burger

I started with the main attraction that has won the hearts of PJ locals: the Bigmok Daging (RM5). This burger has been dubbed the "burger banjir" by social media, and I completely understand why. The homemade beef patty is dipped in a sweet black pepper sauce, generously topped with mayonnaise, chili sauce, and a rich cheese sauce. The amount of sauce is truly impressive—once you unwrap it, the sauce spills out.

You might think the sauce would overpower the burger's flavor, but to my surprise, that wasn’t the case. The flavors meld beautifully, with the mayonnaise and black pepper sauce taking center stage, while the beef patty stands out distinctly. Since they don’t use mass-produced meat, I could truly savor the taste of the beef. With each bite, you could see people chewing slowly, eyes wide open, nodding in agreement.

Delicious Chicken Shawarma

The Shawarma Ayam Goreng (RM5.50) did not disappoint either, thanks to its main ingredient: chicken. The crispy fried chicken bites are reminiscent of popcorn chicken, with tender meat encased in a perfectly crunchy coating. It’s drizzled with a sweet and spicy sauce that really elevates the flavor. The portion of chicken is quite generous; each piece bursts with flavor.

Even though the wrap used for the shawarma is just a common flatbread, it doesn’t detract from the dish's overall taste. Among the three items I tried, this shawarma was the lightest option, but that doesn’t mean it lacked flavor. If you enjoy chicken from fast-food places, this will be your new favorite.

Irresistible Mac n Cheese

Speaking of the Mac n Cheese (RM9) at Dhon Burger, my experience was nothing short of intense. Think of the best macaroni and cheese you've ever had, creamy and rich, now amplified tenfold. This dish arrived piping hot (I nearly burned my tongue), and they didn’t hold back on the cheese sauce.

The bowl of mac n cheese was overflowing with cheese, topped with slices of pepperoni and a few pieces of chicken sausage. If I had to describe this mac n cheese in one word, it would be "intense"—but in a positive way. For this price point, you can’t expect them to use four different types of gourmet cheese. Clearly, the team behind Dhon Burger knows how to whip up a delicious dish.

Everything I tried at Dhon Burger was delicious, and everyone around me seemed to feel the same. With reasonable prices, this is truly a go-to spot for food lovers. If you're not overly concerned about health factors, the food here will surely satisfy your cravings. As for me, I will definitely be back, especially for that Mac n Cheese.

Additionally, I recommend enjoying your burger here right after it’s made; otherwise, it may get soggy. Everything I sampled was delightful, making this a must-visit spot when you're in Petaling Jaya.
