Three Wonderful Days Exploring Rome: From River to Sea

This time, I decided to spend three days in Rome, a city that holds a special place in my heart as I grew up there. Even though I live in Florence now, Rome's charm and vibrant life have always captivated me. The city enchants not just with its ancient beauty but also with a natural rhythm, like the breath of the sea and the gentle morning breeze.

It's often the simplest pleasures that mesmerize me the most: strolling through the streets with a slice of pizza al taglio in hand or enjoying lunch by the seaside in Santa Marinella. Let me share the three amazing days I experienced in Rome.

Wonderful Accommodations in Rome

I chose to stay at Hotel Dé Ricci, a charming little hotel on Via di Monserrato that feels just like home. This street retains the classic beauty of Rome, making it a perfect base. Another great option is Hotel Locarno, where the rooms still capture the essence of the 1960s. For a truly local experience, try SuperAttico Monserrato, a stylish penthouse owned by Daria Reina and Andrea Ferolla.

For an unbeatable sense of relaxation, The Hoxton in Parioli is an excellent choice. Not only is it close to the locals, but it's also a short stroll to Villa Borghese, leading you to the historic center. After a long day of walking, I found the most genuine relaxation at the Six Senses spa with a full-body massage.

Day One: Along the Tiber River

I started my morning with a simple breakfast at Forno Campo de' Fiori. If you prefer a savory breakfast, try the pizza rossa. If you have a sweet tooth, the crostatina di visciole is the perfect choice. Just give it a try, and you'll understand why I love this place.

After breakfast, strolling along the Tiber River was a delightful experience. This river has witnessed the ups and downs of the city, and each bend tells a unique story.

Day Two: Exploring the Historic Center

You cannot miss Centro Storico when you're in Rome. I started my second morning wandering through ancient streets, learning about the city's history and culture in every little corner. It feels like a living museum, with each street holding its own story.

I then stopped at a quaint café to enjoy an espresso and pastry, watching people go by and feeling the gentle flow of life around me. That's how I savor every moment in Rome.

Day Three: Excursion to Campagnano Romano

On my final day, I took a short trip to the suburbs, heading to Campagnano Romano. Unlike the hustle and bustle of the city center, this place offers a peaceful atmosphere where everything moves at a slow pace. I took the opportunity to admire lush fields and farms, completely relaxed and immersed in nature.

As I wrapped up my three days in Rome, I truly felt the allure of this city. Those moments spent sipping coffee or simply gazing at the surroundings were enough to deepen my love for a city I once called home.
